Our core principle is to collect the absolute minimum data necessary for the App to function. We do not collect, store, or share any personal information that directly identifies you (such as name, email, contacts, or files).

This App is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not target or knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use the App.

We do not collect, store, or share any personal information such as your name, email address, contacts, precise location history, photos, or files.

3. Data We Collect and Why

The App's functionality depends on the following data, which is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party, except as described in the "Advertisements" section below:

Device Sensor Data: The App uses your device's internal magnetometer (compass), accelerometer, and gyroscope sensors to determine orientation, heading, pitch, and roll. This data is processed in real-time on your device and is not stored or shared.
Location Data (Optional): To provide features such as "True North" heading, magnetic declination, sunrise/sunset times, or altitude (MSL), the App requires access to your device's location. This location data is used only for calculations on your device and is not collected, stored, or transmitted. Location access is optional; the app functions without it, but some features may be limited.

4. Advertisements and Third-Party Data Collection

To support ongoing development and keep the App free for most users, we display advertisements provided by our third‑party partner, Google AdMob.

We serve personalized ads (also known as interest-based or targeted advertising), which may be tailored to your inferred interests, device data, and past interactions to show more relevant content (e.g., outdoor, navigation, or travel-related ads). This improves ad relevance and supports better monetization.

The Google Mobile Ads SDK automatically collects and shares certain technical information with Google (and potentially the broader advertising ecosystem) for purposes including ad serving, personalization, frequency capping, fraud prevention (e.g., detecting invalid traffic), and aggregated reporting. This includes:

Device or other IDs: Such as the Android Advertising ID (AAID), App Set ID, and related device/account identifiers.
Approximate location: Derived from your IP address (e.g., country or region level).
App interactions: Such as app launch events, ad impressions, taps, and other usage events related to ads.

This data is collected by Google (not by SimplyWerx). We do not have access to it. Google processes this data in accordance with its own privacy policies and for the purposes described above.

All data transmissions are encrypted in transit (via TLS/HTTPS).

Consent Management (EEA/UK Users)

In regions where required (primarily the European Economic Area and United Kingdom), we use Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to display a consent form for ad-related data use and personalization. The form appears only when necessary (e.g., for EEA/UK users) and allows you to manage preferences, including consenting to personalized ads. If you do not consent, Google serves limited or non-personalized ads where possible.

Opt-Out and Control Options

You can opt out of personalized ads by adjusting your device settings to limit ad tracking (e.g., enabling "Opt out of Ads Personalization" on Android) or by using Google's My Ad Center: https://myadcenter.google.com/
Resetting your advertising ID or opting out may result in less relevant ads but does not remove ads entirely.

5. In-App Purchases (Donations)

The App offers an optional, one-time in-app donation to upgrade to a premium, ad-free experience. These transactions are processed securely through the Google Play Store. We do not receive or store any of your personal payment information, such as credit card numbers. We only receive a confirmation from Google that a purchase has been made, which allows us to unlock the premium features for you.

6. Your Consent

By using the App, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy, including the collection, sharing, and use of technical data by Google AdMob for personalized advertising (where consented or applicable).

You can manage certain choices through your device settings or the consent form (where shown).

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
